Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 5: Hazel Poa on PSLE and class sizes
Implement a 10-year through-train programme in some schools where students can progress from primary to secondary levels without taking the Primary School Leaving Examination, NMP Hazel Poa urged the Ministry of Education in parliament on Thursday (Mar 6). Together with smaller class sizes, she argued that this could reduce stress for parents and students and lessen demand for private tuition, and instead channel attention towards building other critical competencies.
