Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 7: Keith Chua on encouraging philanthropy
Singapore continues to develop as a philanthropic hub for local and international giving, said NMP Keith Chua in parliament on Monday (Mar 10). He asked the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth for an update on existing initiatives and schemes to support the broader charity and non-profit sectors. On the provision of S$600 million in matching funds for donations, he wanted to know how this will be channelled to areas or services of greatest need, and if all charities will be favourably considered in benefiting from the matching funds.
