To counter the scourge of increasingly sophisticated scams, it is essential to implement targeted legislative mechanisms, said NMP Kuah Boon Theng. Singapore’s laws must continue to provide the authorities with the power to effectively disrupt and disable criminal activity and infrastructure, and create upstream defences to prevent or limit losses suffered by victims, she said in parliament on Friday (Feb 27).
