Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 4: David Hoe on heat resilience for vulnerable groups

04:04 Min

Hot weather will continue to be a daily lived reality, but the burden is not evenly shared, said MP David Hoe in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3). Besides outdoor workers, he noted that children, seniors and residents living in smaller flats with less ventilation or households without air-conditioning will feel the impact of high temperatures more severely. He outlined three suggestions, including providing more accessible and targeted public guidance on advisories, and prioritising those with few coping options in the heat resilience plan.
