Desmond Choo on Singapore Armed Forces and Other Matters Bill

05:46 Min

A new Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) in the Singapore Armed Forces is necessary to meet growing cybersecurity threats and leverage technological capabilities to make up for manpower constraints, said MP Desmond Choo in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 2). He asked about plans to attract top talent in the face of intense competition from big tech firms and start-ups. He suggested developing feeder programmes to draw students while they are still in school and creating mid-career conversion pathways for servicemen and women to join the DIS.
