22:49 Min

To keep pace with the evolving gambling landscape, the Government will set up a Gambling Regulatory Authority of Singapore as the single body to regulate all forms of gambling. It will work with the Ministry of Social and Family Development and National Council on Problem Gambling to protect Singaporeans from the harms of gambling. To combat new forms of gambling, the Government will amend what constitutes gambling to make it technology-neutral to cover existing and emerging gambling products. These measures were outlined by Minister of State for Home Affairs Desmond Tan in Parliament on Friday (Mar 11). He highlighted the proposed changes to the law to get tougher on emerging trends and products, ensure consistency in the regulatory treatment of different products and enhance social safeguards.
