Eric Chua on easing of COVID-19 visitor restrictions in preschools

01:42 Min

Visitor restrictions in preschools have been progressively eased in line with changing COVID-19 measures. Since November, parents have been allowed to accompany their newly enrolled children for half a day for the first two days of school, and external photographers and videographers could enter kindergartens for graduation ceremonies. Since Apr 26 this year, parents have been able to enter preschools for parent-teacher conferences or as volunteers. Prospective parents can also tour preschool premises. These details were given by Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development Eric Chua in response to an MP’s question in the House on Monday (May 9). Mr Chua said casual visitors remain restricted to lower the risk of COVID-19 transmission as most preschoolers are ineligible for vaccination.
