Eric Chua on income criteria for Student Care Fee Assistance
The Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA) scheme provides help to lower-income families who require assistance with student care centre fees. Around three in five families on SCFA receive the maximum subsidies. As for out-of-pocket fees, the median family receiving the SCFA pays S$29 per child. Those receiving the highest subsidy pay as low as S$5. The Ministry of Social and Family Development reviews the SCFA from time to time to ensure that student care fees remain affordable.
