Grace Fu on developing Singapore into a hub for carbon trading
Since 2021, the Government has been putting in place regulatory sandboxes for carbon credit projects to support the development of regulatory processes and infrastructure that are integral to carbon markets and the broader green finance ecosystem. These are conducted in collaboration with like-minded countries, as well as private sector partners. Sustainability and the Environment Minister Grace Fu, who said this in reply to an MP’s questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Jul 4), highlighted Singapore’s role in catalysing the development of credible carbon markets. She said Singapore is building its reputation as a trusted carbon services and trading hub with more than 100 ecosystem players now based here and working with industry to enable further growth.
