Henry Kwek on Building and Related Works (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill
The Bill will streamline the regulatory processes for the “built environment” sector through CORENET X, said MP Henry Kwek. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Jul 4), he said the professionals in the sector he had spoken with look forward to the platform that can bring about improved efficiencies and faster approvals. They also hope that CORENET X can become the digital foundation for the entire sector in the future. Mr Kwek said CORENET X is a huge undertaking and a critical part of the sector’s transformation. He also shared feedback he had received on the platform. He said professionals in the sector wanted to know how the agencies can come together to approve the key gateways. He also asked if the Ministry of National Development can publicly state the desired timeline and adjust the milestones based on how fast the agencies and industry are fully ready to get on board.
