In Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 7), Second Minister for Finance Indranee Rajah replied to an MP’s question on the 25th percentile, median and 75th percentile income of the top 1,000 earners who were Singapore citizens in the past 10 years of income tax assessment. She said this is a specific subset of taxpayers and the group could change every year. As a lot of effort was required to generate the full set of data, data from three years was provided to offer a broad sense of income trends over the past decade. In year of assessment 2023, the 25th percentile, median and 75th percentile figures were S$2.4 million, S$2.9 million and S$4.5 million respectively. In YA2019, the numbers were S$2 million, S$2.5 million and S$3.6 million. In 2014, they were S$1.8 million, S$2.2 million and S$3 million.
