Indranee Rajah on property and rental transactions by non-residents from China

Non-residents from China currently do not account for a large share of property and rental transactions in Singapore, said Second Minister for National Development Indranee Rajah. In 2022, non-residents from China accounted for only one per cent of all private property transactions, around seven per cent of private rental transactions and 14 per cent of HDB rental transactions. Non-residents are not allowed to buy HDB flats. The Government will continue to monitor trends in the property market closely and adjust its policies as necessary to promote a stable and sustainable property market, she said in reply to an MP's question in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 14).
