Inside The Police Coast Guard
For an island nation like Singapore, safeguarding our borders means maintaining constant vigilance and robust enforcement across our territorial waters. And at the frontline of that maritime protection is the Singapore Police Coast Guard.
The Police Coast Guard is a division within the Singapore Police Force, with four bases that are strategically located around Singapore. It has a fleet of over 100 vessels and more than 1,300 officers are tasked with defending our waters, ensuring maritime security, and deterring and detecting crime at sea as well as conducting search and rescue missions.
But what does it mean to be responsible for law enforcement and security not only within our territorial waters but around our coastal areas and offshore islands? And who are the men and women dedicated to that work? With our cameras following the PCG officers on their shifts, we see what it takes to handle the unique challenges of a dynamic maritime environment.
