Israel orders evacuation of around 100,000 Palestinians from parts of Rafah city
Palestinians in Gaza's Rafah city have received evacuation orders from the Israeli military. This is a sign that Israel could order an offensive into Rafah soon, after Hamas refused a ceasefire deal. Israel's defence force has estimated around 100,000 people will need to evacuate as part of its plans to dismantle Hamas and keep people out of harm's way. More than a million displaced Palestinians have been sheltering in Rafah since the war broke out. Israel has said Rafah harbours thousands of Hamas fighters and potentially dozens of hostages.
