Koh Poh Koon gives update on clarification he sought from He Ting Ru

15:47 Min

In Parliament on Monday (Jul 4), Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment and Manpower Koh Poh Koon gave an update on a clarification he had previously sought from MP He Ting Ru. This was to do with one of her constituents who had sought her help to appeal for an increase in his MediSave claimable limits as he said he could not pay for medications he had been prescribed for chronic conditions. Dr Koh, who was Senior Minister of State for Health at the time, checked on the case and presented his findings. He said Ms He had raised the matter in support of a statement characterising Singapore society as one that did not look after seniors even before the facts were established and relevant agencies had a chance to respond. In reply, Ms He said she meant to make the point that even though avenues of support were available, constituents sometimes felt they had to “jump through many hoops” to get the help they needed.
