Koh Poh Koon on job-matching for cleaning and waste management sector

Job-matching initiatives should be led by the respective industries to ensure that they meet the hiring needs of employers and workers and are sustainable, said Senior Minister of State for Manpower Koh Poh Koon. Replying to an MP's questions in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 23), he pointed out that currently, most employers and workers work with existing employment agencies on their job-matching needs. If the cleaning and waste management industry assesses that a sector-specific job facilitation system is necessary, the Ministry of Manpower will be happy to work with industry representatives on their proposal, he said.
