Leong Mun Wai on petition to review SERS
In Parliament on Monday (Aug 1), NCMP Leong Mun Wai presented a petition to review the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS) on behalf of five affected residents at Blocks 562 to 565 of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. They alleged a lack of transparency and unfair treatment, and cited concern that the project in question might set a precedent that could negatively affect future SERS residents. The petitioners called for a review of SERS “in its entirety”, including the transparent and independent evaluation of reclaimed and replacement sites as well as options for compensation, and a moratorium on SERS until the review has been done and its findings and recommendations made available for Parliament to deliberate.
