Lim Biow Chuan on public housing motions

07:58 Min

MP Lim Biow Chuan said he thought the HDB flats he saw recently along the river in Punggol towards Coney Island were condominiums as they look "absolutely beautiful". Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 7), he reminded Singaporeans that they ought to be proud of the HDB flats that they live in because these are "really world-class". Never say that Singaporeans who live in HDB flats are "condemned", he added. He took aim at the use of the word "condemned" by NCMP Leong Mun Wai in reference to HDB flat dwellers, saying he was "aghast". He also questioned the feasibility and viability of the housing schemes proposed by Mr Leong.
