Malaysia to investigate after ex-minister's 12-year-old son attacked with syringe at mall
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has vowed a swift and transparent investigation, after former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli's son was attacked outside a shopping mall in Putrajaya. The 12-year-old-boy was allegedly dragged away and then stabbed with a syringe. Mr Anwar called the assault worrying and harmful, and added that violence and despicable threats have no place in Malaysia. Known as a whistleblower for exposing several scandals in the past, Mr Rafizi claimed the attack on his family was a tactic used by those determined to silence him over a recent exposé.
