Ng Shi Xuan on Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill
The Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill recognises two simple truths - that people need protection and platforms need accountability, said MP Ng Shi Xuan. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5), he said to build public confidence, the Online Safety Commission should not only set but also publish clear service benchmarks on how quickly cases are acknowledged, investigated and resolved. He hopes that it will also act as an educator and facilitator, promoting digital literacy and empathy across communities.
