The reduction of S$310 million in the estimated financial year (FY) 2025 operating expenditure for the Ministry of Health (MOH) is about 1.6 per cent of the total initial estimate of S$18.8 billion, and is mainly due to lower-than-expected increases in operating costs at the public healthcare clusters. This is within an accepted margin of budget variance, said Minister of State for Health Rahayu Mahzam. Replying to an MP’s questions in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4), Ms Rahayu said that MOH’s overall operating expenditure maintains an upward trajectory and noted that the trend of increase will continue.
