Shawn Huang on tackling workplace burnout
One in three employees experienced work-related stress or burnout over the past four years, based on data collected using a psychosocial health assessment tool that was introduced in 2021. The authorities are encouraging wider adoption of this tool, called iWorkHealth, so that more employers can better understand their employees’ mental well-being and offer relevant support. The Manpower Ministry has also implemented a range of measures to promote workplace mental health and supports jobseekers to find work that is sustainable for them to avoid the risk of burnout. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Manpower Shawn Huang said this in parliament on Thursday (Sep 25) in reply to an MP’s questions.
