Singapore to acquire two Malaysian-owned land plots for Woodlands Checkpoint expansion

327,000 travellers crossed Woodlands Checkpoint daily last year, up 22% compared to 2023. To help ease chronic congestion, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority is redeveloping and extending the checkpoint in phases over the next 10 to 15 years. Two Malaysian-owned land plots in Woodlands will be acquired. Daily traveller numbers are projected to hit 400,000 by 2050.
