Singapore announces Cabinet reshuffle, younger political office holders given greater responsibilities
Under a Cabinet reshuffle announced on Wednesday (Jul 22), Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said Mr Jeffrey Siow, Mr David Neo and Ms Sim Ann will be promoted to ministers, and Mr Ng Chee Meng will return as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Mr K Shanmugam will be appointed Senior Minister and he will continue as Coordinating Minister for National Security, and Minister for Home Affairs.
Current Manpower Minister Tan See Leng will be appointed Minister for Trade and Industry (Energy and Industry), giving up his Manpower Ministry role, while Ms Jasmin Lau will be made Acting Minister for Manpower.
Mr Goh Pei Ming, Mr Alvin Tan, Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Mr Foo Cexiang and Mr Shawn Loh have also been given new political appointments in the Cabinet reshuffle.
