Singapore Perspectives 2024: Youth
About the show:
Today’s young are coming of age in a period of unprecedented change on many fronts – socio-economic, technological, demographic, even the “nuclear family”. The youth segment may not be the fastest growing in many societies but youth itself is prolonged in that the young today take longer than previous generations did to complete traditional milestones of adulthood, like formal education, stable employment, marriage and home ownership. This year’s IPS Singapore Perspectives conference will examine the vast gamut of challenges facing young Singaporeans today, from how they are fitting into Singapore’s ageing society to their ability to adapt to the evolving expectations around work and their attitudes towards to changing family norms. This series captures highlights from the conference.
