The Singapore People's Party has rolled out its manifesto ahead of GE2025, proposing 40 policies across nine themes for a more sustainable and equitable society. It includes proposals to freeze any further increases to GST until a proposed budget deficit is reached. Another priority is encouraging higher birth rates by giving housing incentives to families with two or more children. Secretary-general Steve Chia is also calling for budget surpluses to be distributed in the form of CDC vouchers. He also confirms he will lead the team contesting Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC against Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat. He also introduced potential candidates, including SPP chairman Melvyn Chiu and treasurer Williiamson Lee, as well as new faces Muhammad Norhakim and Lim Rui Xian. It's likely one of these four will run for Potong Pasir SMC. Alexandra Anand with more.
