Progressive Wage Model: Entry-level food services workers to be paid at least S$2,220 from July

Food and beverage firms are expecting higher costs and will review their operations as higher wage requirements for workers kick in. From July, entry-level wages under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) will rise by S$140 to S$2,220. Over 53,000 full-time and part-time workers will benefit from the new PWM tripartite agreement with the Manpower Ministry. Baseline monthly wages will continue to rise by up to S$145 each year for the next three years to reach S$2,500 by 2028. Nadirah Zaidi reports.
