Tan Kiat How on season parking for electric vehicle owners
There are currently no plans to allow electric vehicle (EV) owners to hold one season parking ticket that gives them access to season parking at two different car parks. Senior Minister of State for National Development Tan Kiat How said this in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 15) in response to an MP’s question. It was in reference to allowing EV owners temporary season parking at one car park where they live and another where EV charging is available. Mr Tan said this would not be fair to season parking holders who do not own EVs. Instead, EV owners are allowed to temporarily transfer their existing season parking to another car park with EV chargers, at the same season parking rate. Mr Tan said EV charging points will be available at nearly 2,000 HDB car parks by 2025, thereby increasing accessibility.
