Tin Pei Ling on Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill
Singapore must have in place effective and firm mitigation across policy, enforcement, technology, education and civil society to tackle the ills of online harms, said MP Tin Pei Ling. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5), she pointed out that the clearer definitions in this round of amendments will accelerate investigation and enforcement as speed is critical. Ms Tin also highlighted the need to guard against the abuse of the new reporting mechanism and wanted to know what measures are in place to guard against the abuse of the Online Safety Commission.
