Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 3: Kenneth Tiong on quantum-safe cryptography solutions
Singapore is expanding the National Quantum-Safe Network with dedicated Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) fibre, yet it has no Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) migration deadline, said MP Kenneth Tiong in parliament on Monday (Mar 2). He wanted to know why Singapore’s balance between QKD and PQC appears opposite to every comparable nation, and asked if the Digital Development and Information Minister will disclose how the quantum-safe budget breaks down between QKD and PQC. He also wanted to know when Singapore will set a PQC migration deadline.
