Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 5: Baey Yam Keng on connectivity, comfort and community in public transport
Connectivity, comfort and community – these are the three “Cs” that emerged from a public consultation to improve the land transport system. Minister of State for Transport Baey Yam Keng highlighted these three key thrusts in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4). To achieve connectivity, the government must continue to invest in the public transport network. As for comfort, the Land Transport Authority is continuously improving the first mile-last mile journey. To foster a sense of community, public buses and trains must be inclusive for commuters with all needs. Mr Baey also highlighted the efforts to cultivate a more gracious and caring commuting culture. The Caring SG Commuters movement will launch a new campaign to shape positive norms.
