When policies are formulated in Singapore, they must not only support economic growth but also be a social investment, said MP Lee Hong Chuang in parliament on Wednesday (Sep 24). He called for greater protection for SMEs and platform workers, more support for families from businesses and the community, and help for seniors to learn new technologies, especially AI applications. He added that Singapore should nurture a culture of mutual care and concern, as “a truly strong country is not one without problems, but one where people are willing to help one another and solve problems together in difficult times”.
