Sun Xueling on requests to repurpose underutilised HDB multi-storey car park spaces for community uses

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) periodically receives requests to repurpose multi-storey car park spaces for alternative uses. As they are built for vehicle parking, HDB will need to carefully evaluate proposals to repurpose them. These include potential disamenities to residents and technical considerations. Senior Minister of State for National Development Sun Xueling highlighted these considerations in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Tuesday (Apr 7). She also stressed that revenue considerations are not a factor in the assessment.
