Alvin Tan on fire safety for HDB carparks with EVs and EV chargers

All HDB carparks are designed and constructed in compliance with the prevailing fire code stipulated by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. Fire safety provisions safeguard against fire risks, including those that may arise from electric vehicles (EVs). All EV chargers installed in HDB carparks must comply with the technical specifications and safety requirements for EV charging systems in Singapore. Minister of State for National Development Alvin Tan said this in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Wednesday (May 6).
