White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development: Ng Ling Ling on support for women in workforce and caregiving
The White Paper has captured the Government’s action plans to enhance support, especially in equal opportunities at the workplace and recognition and support for caregivers, said MP Ng Ling Ling. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Apr 5), she voiced support for the plans to develop career mentorship network opportunities and training programmes for women at work and those re-entering the workforce. She suggested that agencies provide a common platform or one-stop portal to offer resources and information on job-matching opportunities and transition training programmes. Turning to the recommendations on caregiver support, she suggested that the MediSave Care scheme be extended to senior caregivers above 65 years old.
