Rani is a presenter for CNA’s ‘Asia Now’ bulletin, bringing viewers breaking news, analysis, and updates from across the Asia Pacific, USA, Europe, and the Middle East. She regularly interviews changemakers, industry leaders, experts, academics, and analysts.
Rani is also an editor and producer, crafting content for live broadcasts that tracks pivotal political developments, social change, and natural disasters in the region. She has helped manage CNA’s live coverage of major events, crises, and crucial elections, from South Korea’s political turmoil to US President Donald Trump's tariff war and trade deals to America’s bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025.
Rani played a key role in CNA’s 2024 US Presidential Election special, along with the network’s reporting of the 2019 anti-government protests in Hong Kong. She has produced and fronted feature stories on Donald Trump's legal troubles, South Korea's plans to develop its own ‘Iron Dome’, and efforts at sea to tackle the climate crisis in Asia. Rani has also covered high-profile events in Singapore, including the Milken Institute Asia Summit, and the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue where she interviewed top defence officials.
Rani started her journalism career in Hong Kong as a field reporter and anchor at TVB Pearl. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
