Malaysia’s Agriculture and Food Security Ministry announced recently that the price control on chicken eggs had been partially lifted, with subsidies reduced from 10 sen to 5 sen an egg, effective from May 1. The egg subsidy will be completely abolished on Aug 1. How will businesses there cope and will they crack under pressure?
