Budget 2026 debate: Victor Lye on trust as Singapore’s new factor of production
Singapore can be a beacon of trust for the world as a networked economy, said MP Victor Lye. Budget 2026 begins this journey to drive trust as Singapore’s factor of production and competitive advantage, he said in parliament on Tuesday (Feb 24). He proposed three areas to work on - institutionalise trust infrastructure, create global trust credentials and develop trusted connectivity standards in sectors that are important to Singapore.
