Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 7: Maliki Osman on uplifting Malay-Muslim community
Over the last few decades, generations of Malay families have done well and moved up in life. The community is determined to uplift vulnerable families, especially those with young children, to secure a brighter future. Making this pledge in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 10), Second Minister for Education and Foreign Affairs Maliki Osman said the Government will step up efforts on three fronts. Firstly, it will reinforce the network of care for the community through M3, a collaborative effort between the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), MENDAKI and MESRA. It will invest in the education of children to give them a strong foundation for life. Secondly, it will strengthen support for families to own homes. Thirdly, it will galvanise resources to meet evolving needs. Dr Maliki stressed that “we will leave no one behind as we build our community of success”.
