Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 5: Lim Biow Chuan on use of PMAs
In Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5), MP Lim Biow Chuan noted that he has received complaints about the use of personal mobility aids (PMAs) by able-bodied persons who use the PMAs as a means of transport, riding them into shopping malls and at places where there are also pedestrians. Some also ride the PMAs at a faster speed. He asked if the Land Transport Authority (LTA) would consider having clearer regulations regarding the use of PMAs before the situation deteriorates. He also urged the LTA to do more to promote gracious behaviour among all commuters including pedestrians, PMA users, cyclists, motorists and personal mobility device users.
