The job environment for young people and middle-aged workers is becoming increasingly unpredictable and uncertain - a reality that factors into their thinking on property purchases, said MP Pritam Singh. He asked if HDB would consider allowing first-timer couples who exceed the income eligibility threshold to be given the option of buying a BTO flat, with certain additional conditions. In parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4), Mr Singh also suggested claims be allowed under HDB’s Facade Repairs Co-Payment Scheme for water seepage from block facades,and that all HDB commercial rentals - including sublets - be made reportable and published on a central portal.
