Living through the rapid economic transformation of Singapore leaves one with a deep sense of gratitude, said NMP Hoon Hian Teck. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 7), he said the journey ahead is likely to be more challenging as citizens' aspirations are now higher and the room for growth spurts diminishes for a mature economy. There is hope that the well-being of the current and future generations of Singaporeans can be further improved if Singapore provides affordable and accessible housing while continuing to grow the economic pie, he said.
