Seah Kian Peng on motion on Pritam Singh as Leader of the Opposition

02:34 Min

In parliament on Wednesday (Jan 14), Speaker Seah Kian Peng reminded Members to confine their observations to the subject matter of the motion on the suitability of Mr Pritam Singh as Leader of the Opposition. He said they should not shift the debate to other unrelated incidents or political issues. Mr Seah also stressed that parliament is “not relitigating the case”. While reference can be made to the judgment of the court to set the context for the debate, the motion is not intended to reopen the case, or dispute the findings of the court, or question its decisions or to discuss the conduct of the trial.
