Singapore Presidential Election: Tharman Shanmugaratnam speaks to media

Tharman Shanmugaratnam spoke to reporters after he was formally announced as a candidate in Singapore's Presidential Election on Nomination Day (Aug 22).

Mr Tharman addressed the allegations of a smear campaign against fellow candidate Tan Kin Lian, the David vs Goliath analogy used by Ng Kok Song, and also explained the meaning behind the pineapple - his chosen campaign symbol.
