Singapore sees surge in COVID-19 cases, expects new wave to peak in a month
COVID-19 cases are surging in Singapore, nearly doubling from the previous week. There were 25,900 cases from 5 May to 11 May. The average daily COVID-19 hospitalisations also rose to 250, from 181 the week before. The wave is expected to peak in the next two to four weeks. Health Minister Ong Ye Kung says immunity among the population has waned over time, and urged people to get their latest round of vaccinations.
