Why Japan's Nippon Foundation is training Rohingya refugees on the Bhasan Char island
Bangladesh is getting help from Japan's Nippon Foundation to relocate Rohingyas from the town of Cox's Bazar to Bhasan Char, an island about 60km from Bangladesh's mainland. The non-profit organisation will also train refugees in skills like maintaining and repairing motorcycles. Nippon Foundation's chairman Yohei Sasakawa says he wants them to be able to live independently when they return to their hometown. Michiyo Ishida reports.
