Amy Khor on requiring taxi, private-hire drivers to check vehicles for belongings left behind
A requirement for taxi and private-hire drivers to check for items left behind by passengers at the end of every trip is not meant to be punitive, but to encourage good practices and pre-empt potential disputes, said Senior Minister of State for Transport Amy Khor. She said warnings have only been issued to drivers in a few instances and no financial penalties or demerit points have been imposed. However, taking into consideration recent feedback, the Land Transport Authority is conducting a broader review of best practices for point-to-point drivers, including how this practice can be encouraged without making it too onerous. Dr Khor was answering MPs’ questions in Parliament on Monday (Nov 28). *Audio issues inherent from source
