Doing more for its people does not mean the Government must spend more; it can also consider what it should spend less on, said MP Yip Hon Weng in Parliament on Monday (Feb 28). He gave examples of Government websites and apps offering the same services, and roadworks that could be better coordinated. Mr Yip said one area where more resources are needed is in coping with Singapore’s ageing population. He called for more meaningful work opportunities for seniors, a "one-stop" platform for caregivers and higher standards of palliative care.
