The government must ensure that Singapore remains a country that can dream of hopeful opportunities and endless possibilities and a future where no one is left behind. Singapore must also cultivate a new social compact that welcomes diversity and strengthens the bond between all communities. MP Nadia Ahmad Samdin said this in parliament on Thursday (Feb 27). She welcomed the government’s measures to ease the burden of parents, such as the move towards shared paid parental leave and the introduction of the S$500 Child LifeSG credits. She also expressed hope that more can be done for caregivers’ mental health and financial well-being, and highlighted the concerns of middle-aged workers as well as seniors.
