Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 1: Lim Wee Kiak on Singapore’s climate goals
Singapore has said it will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to between 45 and 50 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2035, building on an earlier target of 60 million by 2030. In parliament on Friday (Feb 28), MP Lim Wee Kiak asked if the country is on track and whether it plans any pivots from its current decarbonisation strategy. He also wanted to know how recent global developments such as the US pulling out of the Paris Agreement will affect Singapore’s climate goals.
